How to Renew Your M/WBE Certification in the City of St. Louis
Renewing your Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) certification is an important step in keeping your business ready for opportunities for growth and expansion.
CertifySTL, managed and operated by the St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) in collaboration with St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, certifies eligible M/WBEs. Certification helps businesses qualify for City of St. Louis contracting and development projects with M/WBE participation goals. These businesses may also gain access to bid opportunities, resources, training and networking. Certification is available to any qualifying M/WBE, whether or not the business is currently pursuing work opportunities incentivized by the City of St. Louis. Developers working on incentivized projects can also use the program to identify certified firms for applicable M/WBE participation requirements.

What Are the M/WBE Certification Renewal Requirements?
M/WBE Certifications require an annual renewal. On each anniversary of your certification, you will be asked to verify that your business remains in good standing under the program requirements. To remain eligible, a business must:
Continue to be at least 51 percent owned and actively managed by qualifying minority group members and/or women
Demonstrate sufficient ownership, capital and control to perform the work
To renew, visit sldc.gob2g.com, the B2GNow portal dedicated to M/WBE certifications, within 30 days of your certification anniversary. This is a different link than the FlySTL portal used for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification program at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
Within the B2GNow portal, be prepared to submit the following information confirming your business information remains the same:
A completed renewal application
Your most recent tax return showing gross business receipts and ownership information for the prior tax year
A signed and notarized no-change affidavit confirming your firm has not gone through any material changes since your last renewal
What If My Business Has Gone Through Material Changes?
If your business has had a material change—a change in ownership, management, location or business structure—you should not sign the no-change affidavit.
Instead, submit a change request through the B2GNow portal for review and approval. To submit a change request:
Log into the portal and select “Certifications” from your dashboard.
From the “Vendor Profile: Certification” page, select “Submit Change Request.”
Select the organization(s) you want to notify about your change request and update your business and/or address information as needed.
Attach any required supporting documentation using the “Attach File” button.
Select “Spell Check” to review your entries for accuracy.
Select “Review” after completing the form to preview your requested changes before submission.
Review the information, select the “Attestation Checkbox” to confirm accuracy, and then select “Save.”
Contact the CertifySTL team with any questions. Businesses are encouraged to submit material changes through the portal before beginning the renewal process to ensure deadlines are met.
The renewal process is essential for businesses. Those who do not submit required renewal materials may risk decertification.
New Applications and Certification Expansion
Businesses can use the portal for more than renewals. New applicants can begin the M/WBE certification process, and certified firms can request an expansion if they have additional experience or work categories they want reviewed and added to their services.
Expansion requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may take three to six months to complete. Firms should be prepared to provide specific descriptions of their experience, areas of expertise and supporting materials that show they can control the additional type of work.
